Homemade Blackberry Sorbet
Ingredients:
4 cups fresh blackberries (rinsed)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Pinch of salt
Directions:
1. Place blackberries in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
2. Place a fine-mesh sieve over a bowl and pour the blackberry puree through it to remove seeds. Use a spatula to press the puree through the sieve, leaving the seeds behind. This will ensure a smooth sorbet.
3. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat.
4. In a large bowl, mix the strained blackberry puree, cooled simple syrup, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well combined.
5. In an airtight container, freeze for 24 hours. Thaw for 5 minutes before serving.
